About Dr. Jess

Jessica Belo, Ph.D., has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Action and master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology. As a psychologist, Dr. Jess has provided psychotherapy and integrated psychodiagnostic evaluation services for toddlers, children, and adults. She specializes in clarifying neurodevelopmental conditions — especially Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder — in people who are undiagnosed or have been misdiagnosed. Dr. Jess still provides a limited number of psychodiagnostic evaluations.

Dr. Jess a fierce advocate for neurodivergence as an essential aspect of neurodiversity. She shifted her professional focus to coaching in response to years of interactions with neurodivergent people who believe there is something wrong with them. Dr. Jess firmly believes that neurodivergence is not to be corrected, prevented, or cured, but embraced as it is authentically experienced by individuals who, like everyone else, have interests, talents, goals, hopes, and dreams for themselves.

Dr. Jess is a California native now enjoying four seasons (sometimes in the same day!) living in southeastern Michigan. In her free time, she likes to make lists, drink coffee, read, cook, watch movies, go to concerts, and “hike” (in flip-flops). Most of all, Dr. Jess loves spending time with her friends and family ~ especially her adult son and daughter, her wife of almost 20 years, and their four rescue dogs and four rescue cats.
